#DA19 - Walt Disney Studio, THE ARISTOCATS, 1970. Lively full-figure animation cel of Scat Cat, leader of the hippest feline band in Paris. An actual production cel, it was created in the Disney ink-and-paint department and photographed during the making of the animated feature. The painted cel image measures 5 1/8" x 5 1/8" and the cel sheet is full and untrimmed. Maurice Chevalier came out of retirement to record the jaunty tide song (in French and English). Although Chevalier later wrote 'I would not have done it for anybody else or for any kind of money, except the honor of showing my love and admiration for the one and only Walt,' there was another connection. The song was written by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman, whose father, songwriter Al Sherman, had penned songs for Chevalier during his early movie career in the 1930's.

This delightful and rare hand-inked and painted animation cel of Brer Rabbit was created in the Disney ink-and-paint department and photographed during the making of the "Tar Baby" animated and live-action sequence of Walt Disney's feature film.

Milt Kahl, one of Walt Disney's master animators known as his Nine Old Men, supervised Brer Rabbit in this and every scene of the introduction of the "Tar Baby" sequence in which live-action was combined with animation. Minor paint runs, blemish on face under nose and stain on background. Fair to Fine. Our certificate of authenticity is included.

Humphrey The Bear is trying his best to pick up paper that has littered the park. He and about 10 other bears are given instructions to pick up the paper with a stick and put it in a pouch. The bears that complete the chore will get dinner, and whoever doesn't help does not get fed. Poor Humphrey tries to pick up the paper but he just can't keep it in the sack, everything is going wrong for him and he doesn't get dinner. In the end, he finally cleans up the paper and gets food. He's a low down schnook that's always down on his luck. Boris claims to have only enemies. Inside his tough exterior, he's really a softee.

Droopy is the cartoon king of understatement, a character most known for how little he does in his films! He appears in a total of 16 MGM cartoons, beginning with 'Dumb Hounded,' a 1943 classic directed by the legendary Tex Avery. Also known for his distinctive drawl and deadpan delivery, Droopy shows up in the least likely places, usually to the shock of his main nemesis, The Wolf.

#M21 - Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studio, NORTHWEST HOUNDED POLICE, 1946. This lively, large-image animation drawing of the Wolf inmate who is pursued throughout the cartoon by Droopy is from the scene in which the Wolf escapes from prison.

It is a final animation drawing created by an animator in production of the animated cartoon directed by Tex (Fred) Avery during his peak years at MGM, and a cel was made directly from it.

Drawn in pencil on an untrimmed animation sheet, the art measures 5 1/4' x 4'. The animator wrote the number '162' to indicate this drawing's place in the scene, and the sheet also bears the MGM stamp that denotes the production and scene numbers.

In excellent condition showing only light handling from the animation process itself: VERY FINE. Howard Lowery certificate of authenticity is included.
